Jim Wolak
Owner
Since he was a young boy Jim Wolak had an affinity for fixing all things broken and with an amazing level of precision at that. This bright eyed, inquisitive, hardworking kid became known around his small Cicero, IL neighborhood for his talent and at just ten years old he was repairing everything from lawnmowers to furniture, scooters to radios right from his parents garage. Neighbors from far and near would come to Jim toting something impossibly broken. To their surprise he not only fixed the mechanical problems but took the time to buff and polish the exterior returning whatever it was to brand new.
Shortly out of High school Jim weaved this childhood talent into his first auto body shop on Chicago’s west side with the help of his high school sweet heart and now wife, Janice. The shop grew and thrived until his growing family would be better suited to suburban life. In 1978 he relocated his shop, buying a much larger space in Lombard, IL to make way for a complete collision repair facility.

Our History
Glenbard Autobody has grown into a full service auto repair facility that is competitive with even the largest national chains. Over the years a full parts department, in house paint booth along with the latest high tech hardware has allowed Glenbard to grow into the go to auto body facility for the Chicago suburbs. To this day Jim can still be seen working along side his employees in the garage and Janice behind the desk desk in their newly renovated reception area. Their youngest son Jeff joined the team in 2002 to help with the increasing demand for honest, quality repairs with an attention to detail that can’t be found anywhere else.
